The Sen sideboard is a horizontal storage unit designed by Chiara Andreatti. It is constructed with a frame in solid ash wood and features a distinctive central shoulder that divides the internal storage space into two separate compartments. The unit is elevated by ash wood legs and utilizes Aval painted metal guides for the smooth operation of its sliding doors.

Top & Materials :

Inspired by the geometry of traditional Japanese rice paper doors, the sideboard features two sliding doors in tempered glass, which can be finished in bronzed or transparent options. These glass panels are overlaid with a rhythmic grid of solid ash wood. The internal space is designed to be functional and durable, matching the high-quality woodworking of the exterior.

Shelves & Storage :

As the wide, horizontal variant of the Sen storage family, the 886/MB model offers a low-profile yet spacious solution. The internal compartments are organized to provide ample room for dining or living room essentials. The combination of the wooden grilles and tinted glass provides a "visual lightness," allowing the cabinet to hold significant volume without appearing heavy in an interior space.

Design & Aesthetic :

The design is a study in cultural fusion, bringing together Italian artisanal woodcraft and East Asian architectural motifs. The crossed grilles "tone down" the solid volume of the ash wood, creating a play of light and shadow. The material palette—combining natural wood, glass, and industrial metal guides—results in a sophisticated, contemporary aesthetic.

Functionality & Placement :

This sideboard is ideal for indoor residential dining rooms or hallways, providing a surface for decorative objects while concealing storage. Its height and length also make it suitable for use as a media unit in a living room or as a refined storage solution in luxury hospitality and executive environments.

Finishes & Customization :

The unit can be deeply personalized through the choice of ash wood stains from the Potocco collection. Further customization is available for the doors, where users can choose between bronzed glass for more privacy or transparent glass for a clearer view of the interior. The metal guides are consistently finished in Aval paint.

Model 886/MB features a width of 210 cm, a depth of 50 cm, and a total height of 82 cm. It is the largest horizontal piece in the Sen collection, which also includes a tall cabinet (886/MA) and a medium cabinet (886/M) for a coordinated interior design.
